OSAC Scholarship Application Changes this year

The OSAC scholarship application is scheduled to go live on Nov. 1. (That being a Sunday, I’m guessing that actually means Monday, Nov.2.) The early-bird deadline will be Feb. 15, 2016, and the final deadline, March 1.

Because of the change noted in red below, we REALLY need to push students to sign up EARLY for their transcripts to be sent to OSAC by the counseling office. Students should begin requesting their transcripts be sent AS SOON as grades have been determined for this term in mid-February. They’ll find a sign-up clipboard in the counseling office.

·         The scholarship matching function has been improved. Membership and employer scholarships have their own section, so the matches are specific to the applicant.

·         Tabs have been created to identify:
o   Scholarships selected by applicant.
o   All membership and employer scholarships.
o   Applicant’s possible matches based on questions they answered.
o   All scholarship list.

·         Applicants will have access to their prior year Personal Statements and Activity Chart; however it is essential these be updated each year to avoid being discarded by selection committees.

·         These sections are open year-round, allowing changes to be made to a previously submitted online application:
o   Contact information
o   College choice
o   Major

·         Applicants CANNOT submit their scholarship application until their transcript has been submitted. The transcript section of the application will be locked as soon as the application is in review status or after the March 1 deadline, whichever comes first.

Applicants who have submitted an invalid transcript will be allowed to upload a corrected version through March 31.
