OSAC Application Help

If you've previewed the online OSAC  application you know it's a bumpy ride.

If you have students who are stuck in the OSAC app process, they can call these folks at OSAC for help: Cheryl Connolly or Lacie Morgan.  They are terrific at working out the issues.

Important OSAC Deadlines

Important deadlines for the Scholarship App:  Early Bird deadline is February 15, 2013 - 5pm PST, and ensures an early review, with 2nd chance to repair errors before the final deadline. Error-free Early Birds are entered into a drawing for $500 Early Bird scholarships.

The final deadline is March 1, 2013 - 5pm PST, and ALL materials must be received by that time: online App submissions with related uploads, or documents submitted by mail or in person (because they could not be uploaded).

For more scholarship or App info, examples, templates and a worksheet to help you complete the online App, go to the Scholarships tab on our website at http://www.oregonstudentaid.gov/

Once you submit your App online, you will receive an email confirming your App submission, and a second email when it's reviewed. It's up to YOU to go online and check your review status, and to maintain an active email address with OSAC, which accepts our email alerts.

If your App is “invalid”, you will need to fix the problem by the final deadline. The sooner you submit, the better your chances of having a "valid and accepted" App - just be sure you're submitting the correct transcript(s), covering the required time period (high school transcripts with grades through 7th semester - senior year, college transcripts with grades through fall term of the current school year, etc.), and/or all required school(s) (possibly multiple colleges, etc). For detailed transcript requirements, go tohttp://www.oregonstudentaid.gov/scholarships-transcripts.aspx

SAT vs. ACT

It's an often-asked question: What's the difference between the SAT and ACT?  Here's a link to a website that explains it pretty well.
