Financial Aid Letters and 100% Colleges

Here are links to two great resources – one about demystifying financial aid letters and the other with a list of colleges that claim to meet 100% of a student’s financial need.

Practice Tests – Practice | SAT Suite of Assessments

You are aware that the SAT is being revised but so is the PSAT.  Here is the link to the some preparation that our 2015-16 sophomores and juniors can do to prepare for the October, 2015 PSAT.  You might wish to share this with your students before the end of the school year

Providence Newberg Medical Center’s 2015 Student Volunteer Summer Program

Dear School Administrators, Student Advisors and Counselors,

We’re pleased to announce Providence Newberg Medical Center’s 2015 Student Volunteer Summer Program. This volunteer program is designed specifically for a limited number of students between the ages of 15 to 18 who have a genuine interest in serving and pursuing a career in health care. Our goal is to introduce a new generation to the health care profession.

We’ll provide learning and volunteer experiences for students to develop and share their skills.
Students will serve in a variety of areas throughout the medical center from, for example, helping as an ambassador at the front desk to re-stocking in med/surg, the Emergency Department and short-stay and working with other students on special projects and events for the Providence Newberg Health Foundation.

The Student Summer Volunteer Program will begin with a required orientation on Thursday, June 18 and run through Thursday, August 13, 2015. Students will learn about Providence’s Mission and history, as well as, safety and policies for volunteers. Students will also learn about volunteer assignments and hear experiences from current volunteers.

Interested students will need to complete a volunteer application which can be downloaded from our website at www.Providenceoregon.org/newbergvolunteers. The application needs to be returned by May 15. For details, please review the attachments for the application process, and important dates and information. You will be receiving a packet in the mail next week with a master copy of the application.

Student’s who complete the program will be eligible to continue their volunteer service during the school year. We appreciate your interest and time to promote the Student Summer Volunteer Program to your students. If you have any questions or need more information please contact me at 503-537-1494 or reply to this email.

Warm regards,

Lisa
